April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Health Services and Student Life are providing a variety of events for Sexual Assault Awareness month. There will be presentations throughout the month, as well as opportunities to join the It’s On Us campaign, which promotes bystander intervention.
April 9, 9-11 a.m. – Hill Theatre

Victim Services, Mission 21, and Breaking Free will discuss what sex trafficking is (and isn’t), how it affects thousands of victims in Minnesota, and what you can do to help keep youth safe from being sexually exploited

“Pornography… The new drug and its effects on the brain”
Fight the new drug! Learn the harmful effects of pornography and the damaging effect it has on love, relationships and our brain

What’s the recipe to combine identity, expression, sex and attraction into a person? How does getting this recipe wrong lead to gender inequality and sexual assault? What do you do when someone gets the recipe wrong?

“Sex, drugs, alcohol and parties: the misconception of college”
Animal House, Old School, Van Wilder…. Is this College? This presentation touches on how the media creates a false picture of college life, by influencing student’s views of college at a young age. It focuses on how the media shapes our view of college and ways you can step up and intervene as a bystander
