Be Prepared for Minnesota’s Winter

Nov. 14-18 is Winter Hazard Awareness Week, and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has a tip each day on how to prepare for a cold, snowy winter. With a snowstorm slated to begin tonight and last throughout the weekend, winter preparedness should become a priority.

While longtime residents of the northern state already know the perils of winter in Rochester, it’s easy for those who grew up in warmer climates to forget to wear an extra layer and some gloves.

We highly recommend checking out all of the links – especially for winter driving – below.

We also have our own tips for knowing how campus may be affected by winter:

1.     We’ll let you know if school is closed on our home page and social media, but local media will also provide updated info such as school closings or delays.

2.     Check for public transit delays after or during a big storm.

3.     Bundle up. We can’t stress this enough.
