Centennial events a success

commappThe RCTC Centennial Celebration Week of Sept. 14-19 wrapped up on Saturday, Sept. 19, with a Friends, Family, and Community Appreciation Day, a Centennial Classic Car Show, and the Centennial Homecoming Football Game.

More than 200 families came out to Appreciation Day, which boasted bouncy houses and other games, as well as balloon and prize giveaways, face painting, caricatures, and a photo booth. The event was from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

At 2 p.m., the Centennial Car Show started, with more than 50 cars in attendance. Cars were judged per class, with door prizes every half hour announced by Big Mark Clark of Laser 101.7. The show culminated in the raffle drawing for the Ford F1 truck that the RCTC Auto Club had restored.

carshowThank you to everyone who came to RCTC all week for these great Centennial events. From Centennial Day on Monday to the last car pulling out of East Lot on Saturday, this was a great week of celebrating RCTC’s first 100 years and looking forward to 100 more.
