How RCTC’s Science Programs Propel students forward – Part 3

We recently invited back three RCTC graduates who started their science studies at the College to see what they’re up to now.

Heather Simenson, Alison Seemann, and Alexander Kehren have all gone on to great careers thanks to a love of science. Read about Kehren’s experience below. You can read about Seemann and Simenson here and here.

KehrenAtriumWEBRCTC: Why did you decide to attend RCTC?

Kehren: I came and did my generals here. I transferred away and transferred back because plans changed. And when I came back, I was only back six months and I took the pre-courses I needed to get into the Mayo Clinic program I wanted to get into.

RCTC: What were some of the highlights from your time here?

K: How close it was to home, and how affordable the classes are compared to elsewhere. It was easier for me to switch and switch directions just because of how affordable (it is).

RCTC: What do you do now?

K: I work at Mayo Clinic. I just graduated with a Bachelors, but I just got accepted for one more year. I graduate with my Bachelors in X-ray – radiography – and I have one more year and I’ll be a radiation therapist. The difference is instead of taking images you’re treating cancer patients with radiation.

RCTC: Looking back, what did RCTC do for you?

K: A lot of generals here allowed me to kind of pick the medical science field. Working with your student advisors, your student coaches, they kind of led me down the right path.
