Kyong Juhn finalist for photography
The photo is a part of the Art + Design student’s project, “Embracing Community, The True Beauty,” currently on display in the Comprehensive Learning Center.
Juhn captured the images at the 2014 World Fest, where “I see the beauty of the community when it comes together to embrace people, regardless of their colors of skin, their backgrounds of cultural heritage, and their faith,” her artist statement states.
The photo considered for the Photographer’s Forum award will move forward to the final judging by three photo educators. It will be published in the Best of College and High School Photography 2015.
“The Art + Design faculty are thrilled for Kyong and this wonderful acknowledgement of the hard work she puts into her artwork,” said instructor Suzanne Szucs. Juhn is enrolled in the RCTC Photo Certificate program and is preparing her portfolio to transfer to a four-year bachelor of fine arts program where she will study photography and Art History.
