Last Week in Athletics – Aug. 31, 2015

Last weekend marked the first home games of both the volleyball and football teams, and our Yellowjackets brought home the wins.

Volleyball

On Friday, Aug. 28, the Yellowjacket volleyball team swept Minnesota State Community and Technical College 3-0 here at RCTC at 6:30 p.m.

Carly McCabe had 21 digs. Maria Tibesar had nine kills, and Tori Peterson and Ashley Bichel each had eight kills.

The volleyball team swept the Ridgewater Warriors 3-0 in the Performance Court on Saturday at noon. Ridgewater is one of RCTC’s biggest rivals in volleyball, and the 2014 season was the first time the Yellowjackets had beaten Ridgewater in years. This year’s team is continuing the trend!

The Yellowjackets play next on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Minnesota West Community College at 6:30 p.m.
