Men’s Basketball to play in NJCAA Tournament
Rochester Community and Technical College’s men’s basketball team is heading to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament in Loch Sheldrake, New York, March 10-12. A total of eight teams from across the nation will be competing in the NJCAA National Tournament.
“We are very excited to represent RCTC and the Rochester area at the 2016 NJCAA National Basketball tournament in Loch Sheldrake, NY,” RCTC men’s head basketball coach Brian LaPlante said. “This is the 7th time since 2006 that we have played in this prestigious event, and we hope to continue to give great effort and sportsmanship as we strive for our goal. A big thank you to all Administration, Student Life, Faculty and Staff for all of the support they have shown us.”
The RCTC Yellowjackets will play the Community College of Philadelphia Colonials in the first round at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 10th. The team currently sits at 28-2 and is ranked second in the NJCAA polls. The Philadelphia Colonials have a 23-5 record and are ranked seventh in the division.
