RCTC AD Nursing Students Receive High Marks on NCLEX Test
Rochester Community and Technical College is pleased to announce associate degree (RN) nursing students performed very well on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) in the 1st Quarter of 2016. RCTC students achieved a 94.87% pass rate of those who took the test for the first time. The national average for similar ADN programs is 81%
The test, administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, tests students on their aptitude in all areas of nursing including management of care; safety and infection control; health promotion and maintenance; psycho-social integrity; basic care and comfort; pharmacological and parenteral therapies; reduction of risk potential; and physiological adaptation.
Both RN and LPN students take versions of the NCLEX test. RCTC’s spring semester scores will be released later this summer.
