RCTC and WSU-R co-sponsor STEM Summit
More than 2,000 students from 23 schools across the Southeast Minnesota region will attend the STEM Summit on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the UCR Regional Sports Center in Rochester.
The STEM Summit highlights careers that involve science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills with hands-on, interactive exhibits. Over 2,000 middle and high school students from Rochester and surrounding communities will attend this year’s event, spending the day interacting with over 60 exhibits provided by businesses and higher education institutions.
The Summit brings together business, higher education, local government and communities to motivate and prepare our students for an increasingly competitive global marketplace. The future success of our area depends on a well-prepared pipeline of students with the education and skills needed to keep our business and industry competitive.
Students from the following schools will attend this year’s event:
Blooming Prairie High School, Byron Middle School, Friedell Middle School, Goodhue Elementary, Grand Meadow Middle School, Hayfield Elementary Schools, John Adams Middle School, Kasson-Mantorville Middle, Kellogg Middle School, Kingsland High School, LeRoy-Ostrander School, Lincoln K-8, Pine Island School, Plainview-Elgin-Millville School, Phoenix Academy, Rochester Alternative Learning Center-RAMS, Rochester STEM Academy, Schaeffer Academy, Spring Grove Public School, St. John the Evangelist, Stewartville Middle School, and Willow Creek Middle School.
