RCTC Head Wrestling Coach Nominated for Coach of the Year

RCTC is excited to announce Head Wrestling Coach, Randy Rager, has been nominated by Rochester Sports (formerly Rochester Amateur Sports Commission) and now selected as a finalist for Coach of the Year!

Coach Rager was surprised and appreciative of the nomination stating, “Coaching is often a thankless job, and I’ve always worked hard to do the best for our athletes. It feels good to be recognized for these efforts.”

Randy Rager has previously been named NJCAA Division III National Coach of the year twice and named MCAC Wrestling Coach of the Year five times. Rager has also held the position of Vice President of the NJCAA Coaches Association since 2014.

RCTC Athletic Director, Mike Lester, stated “We are thrilled that the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission has named Coach Rager as a finalist for Coach of the Year. His commitment to the students and student-athletes at RCTC is second to none. Coach Rager has built a long tradition of success year in and year out with our wrestling program.”  Lester added “The Athletic Department, Department of Student Affairs and all of RCTC’s faculty, staff and students are very proud of Randy and his young men.”

The winner of the Coach of the Year Award will be announced at the 13th Annual Rochester Sports Banquet which will be held Monday, January 29th, 2018 at the Rochester Event Center.
