Each college and university must determine institutional learning outcomes, what the college or university strives to teach all students.

What are the institutional learning outcomes for RCTC?

The six institutional learning outcomes, or core outcomes, are:

  1. Communication
  2. Critical Thinking
  3. Personal and Professional Accountability
  4. Civic Responsibility
  5. Global Awareness and Diversity
  6. Aesthetic Response

More about the core or institutional learning outcomes can be found here: http://www.rctc.edu/academicaffairs/pdfs/RCTCcoreoutcomes_000.pdf

What is the MAP?

MAP is an acronym for the college’s Master Academic Plan. Each of the main academic divisions, students affairs, and facilities and planning all have participated in creating the plan, and continue to tie updates on the Academic Program Review and Strategic Plan.

You can read both the executive summary and full documents here: http://www.rctc.edu/ci/master-academic-plan.html

Please visit rctc.edu/hlc or the HLC SharePoint site to access documents, evidence and other files.

Schedule a meeting with academic advisors or counselors to make steps to educational and career planning.  Appointments with them can help you determine what classes to register for next semester, discuss your progress thus far.  If you don’t know your advisor or counselor is, you can download the list from our website at: www.rctc.edu/counseling_career_center/html/advisors.html

Academic advisors are professionals trained to advise students seeking technical and online degrees.  Counseling serves all students with emotional and personal issues, career and academic issues, and students seeking the following degrees:
