Rooney, Bolton break, tie RCTC season records
Yellowjacket Nick Rooney has been on a record-breaking streak this football season, and Patrick Bolton brought a tie to the table as well.
After breaking school records, including his own record set earlier in the season, Rooney broke the school record for touchdown passes in a season during Saturday’s game against Fond du Lac. The Yellowjackets won the game 42-0.
The old school record of 28 was held by Ryan Kelly and Kramer Berg. Rooney now has 33 touchdown passes for the year. In the Saturday game, Rooney was 21-31 for 317 yards and five touchdowns.
Bolton tied a school record for 17 touchdown receptions in a season. He had three touchdown receptions on Saturday.
The tie is held with Antoine Burns, who became a receiver for the University of Minnesota in the late 90s. Bolton has 56 catches this year for 1037 yards. He is two receptions shy of the school record for receptions on the season, a record also held by Burns.
The Saturday game was led defensively by Juston Mincy with seven tackles and a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown and Kevin Agee, who had six tackles and three sacks.
Playoffs being on Saturday, Oct. 25, against North Dakota School of Science.
