Shakespeare Festival


Celebrate Shakespeare’s 450th birthday by taking part in the 2nd Annual RCTC Shakespeare Festival.

  • Mon. Apr. 21st – sonnet-writing workshop 1-2 p.m. EA 103. The winners of a student sonnet competition will win $50, $25, and $10 and get their poems published in the Echo. E-mail submissions to by noon Tues. Apr. 22nd.
  • Tues. Apr. 22ndPoetry Slam Exhibition, student film screening, and poetry open mic 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in CC 3rd floor cafeteria. Refreshments provided. The open mic will begin at noon.
  • Wed. Apr. 23rdWords Players performing Shakespearian scenes 11-11:50 a.m. in CC 3rd floor cafeteria.
  • Thur. Apr. 24th – “Suit the Action to the Word” presented by Doug Scholz-Carlson of the Great River Shakespeare Festival 6:00-7:00 p.m. CF206/208.  Celebrate the Bard’s birthday with cake!  Winners of the Sonnet competition announced.
  • All week- See a display of works by and about Shakespeare in the glass display case on the main floor of the Goddard Library.
