Women’s Basketball Week in Review Jan. 31
The Yellowjacket Women’s Basketball team was 0-2 for the week ending Jan. 26. The Yellowjackets fell to Anoka-Ramsey on Wednesday, Jan. 22 and again to Minnesota West on Saturday, Jan. 25. In the two games played, the Yellowjackets recorded 42-124 (33.9%) for field goals made-attempted, 9-38 (23.7%) for three-pointers made-attempted, 24-36 (66.7%) for free throws made-attempted, 87 rebounds, 21 steals, and 3 blocks.
In the game at Anoka-Ramsey, Danielle Adams (Byron, MN) led the team in scoring with a whopping 31 points. She also had 11 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal. Brittany Ellis (Lansing, IA) tallied 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, a block, and successfully shot 4 of 4 free throw attempts. Jenna Ness (Slayton, MN) followed with 8 points, 5 rebounds, an assist, 2 steals, and a block. The Yellowjackets fell to Anoka-Ramsey 79-67.
In the game with Minnesota West, Danielle Adams led the team in scoring once again, this time with 10 points, along with a rebound and 2 steals. Chanda Reidemann (LeRoy, MN) followed with 9 points, 3 rebounds, and an assist and successfully shot 100% on her free throw attempts. Laura Espinosa scored 8 points against Minnesota West, as well as 2 rebounds and 2 steals. Jenna Ness tallied 7 points, 2 rebounds, an assist, and a steal for the Yellowjackets. RCTC fell to Minnesota West 74-50.
The 7-12 Yellowjackets will travel to LaCrosse to take on Western Tech on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m.
