Yellowjackets named MCAC athletes of the week

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its Southern Division Athletes of the Week in volleyball and football for the week of Oct. 6. Yellowjackets swept all but one of the categories!

In volleyball, Amberlee Dunagan (13), a sophomore from Rochester, was named setter of the week. Natalie Reinardy (4), a sophomore from Cannon Falls, was named defensive player of the week. Brianna Atkins (1), a sophomore from Rochester, was named all-around player of the week.

The volleyball team is ranked second in the southern division and second in the NJCAA national polls. They play next on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at home at 6:30 p.m.

In football, Nick Rooney (8), a freshman from Minnetonka, was named offensive player of the week. Justin Mincy (5 in photo), a sophomore from Dekatur, Ga., was named defensive player of the week. Tanner Menke (4), a sophomore from Rochester, was named special teams player of the week.

The football team holds the first place in the southern division and is ranked second in the state. They play on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 1:30 p.m. home at the Stadium.
